A thriving angling club of 150 members providing fishing on a classic Highland spate river. The Alness AC owns and leases fishing on several beats from the estuary to the middle and upper sections. Fishing is by fly and worm (the latter permitted from May 1 to September 15) methods as per each beat’s rules, although a fly reel must be used for worm fishing. Typically a “late” salmon river with catches dependent on water levels.
