D.A.C. was established in 1925 and has since held fishings on the River Irvine and Annick water. The Club waters enjoy a run of grilse, salmon and sea trout every year.
Visitors hoping to catch these migratory fish would be best advised to concentrate their efforts in the months of August, September and October when fresh fish run the river with every rise of water level.
Spinning accounts for most fish caught although fly fishing is becoming more popular.
Fishings are held between the Lave Saw Mill Dam downstream to Holmsford Bridge on the River Irvine with shared fishings downstream thereon to the Annick Water mouth on one bank.
