This beat lies directly downstream of Upper Tindal but is fished from the right bank.
Lower Tindal runs for 2 miles and is a very attractive length of water, set in a wooded gorge with numerous white water streams over rock into deep long pools.
Access if via a car park at Tindal House Farm, then a walk of 200 yards over a steep bank to the riverside. This is a beat for the able bodied but well worth the effort.
The left bank is all woodland and kept quite as a conservation area. The right bank comprises of two fields and two woods, well maintained footpaths are kept through the woods.
Two bench seats are provided in the woods overlooking attractive pools. From the bottom boundary it is only 7 miles to the Tweed. Fresh fish can be encountered most months of the year. It is best to be familiar with this beat before attempting any night fishing. On stormy days this is a very sheltered beat to fish, being set in a woodland gorge. Most Anglers do not see the bottom of the beat, it has 20 pools. The otter is making a comeback on the River Till. Lower Tindal is a favourite beat to see otters in daylight.
