The Berwick & District Angling Association have five named beats on the lower Whiteadder. Conservation is of the utmost importance to the Association and as such we have a number of measures in force. Fishing on all beats is by fly only and no other form of fishing is allowed. Permission to fish is given subject to the rules of the Association, Beat Maps and the terms of the current Tweed Angling Code.
Up to the end of June all fish have to be returned. Although Berwick & District AA encourage the return of all fish throughout the year, season ticket holders are allowed to kill one migratory fish per week Monday to Saturday, after the end of June.
After killing one fish they may change tackle and continue fishing for migratory fish catch & release with barbless hooks for the remainder of the week. Day ticket holders may continue fishing catch and release with barbless hooks after killing their first fish.
Both season and day permits are available and salmon permits also carry the right to fish for brown trout. Concessionary tickets are available and we allow a parent and child (OAP) shared ticket subject to conditions.
