This middle Tweed beat has one of the most magnificent settings possible. It lies below Scotts View made famous by Sir Walter Scott. This was his favourite spot to stop his carriage and gaze out over the river Tweed meandering below him through the beautiful border countryside. The beat lies in a wooded gorge that keeps it almost completely hidden from the outside world. Stunning trees with spectacular autumn colours and amazing wildlife make this a great beat for people wanting peaceful fishing in beautiful surrounds.
The fishing includes one and a half miles of the right bank with eight named pools. Nearly all of it is fishable and it copes well with low water, whilst still containing sufficient fishing for high water conditions. 20lbs+ salmon are caught each year from this beat. To gain the most enjoyment from this beat it is important that fishers can spey cast and are competent waders. If in doubt please call the ghillie, Tony Ford on 01835 823777. There is a hut and toilet on the bottom of the beat with a good access road to the hut.
