Baldarroch can be fished at almost any water level with fly or spinner. In addition, when conditions require, it can be fished from the bank, by wading or from the boat.
The top pools, (The Salt Hole, Hanging Tree and Bedsteads), lie at the bottom of a steep bank with a path cut along the riverside. In the summer, the bank is alive with wild flowers insects and birdlife. Towering oaks form a canopy overhead; stone croys provide good access to the better water when the levels are low, or there is fly fishing and harling from the boat.
Further down, the Green Bank is ideal for the fly. The pools lie very close to the bank behind large boulders. The deep Darroch Pool lies at the top of the lower part of the beat, which can be comfortably waded at normal levels. Good access to the riverside makes it a perfect location for even the novice fisherman.
