Visually stunning with superb fly water and spectacular holding pools, the Minnoch is a rare gem in Scotland’s forgotten corner. The tranquil setting of the fishing adds to its charm, despite it being set only 10-15 minutes drive from the amenities of Newton Stewart.
The fishing is comprised of two beats, both of which are well maintained with car parking available only a short walk from many pools. The Beat 1 boasts eleven named pools and is set on the lower part of the Minnoch, whilst Beat 2 has ten named pools and is positioned higher in the system. As with the other Galloway rivers, a good fall of rain tends to precede the best fishing days.
