The Jardine Hall beat is beautiful and varied with lots of lovely fly water. It consists of 1.5 miles of single bank (left hand) and half a mile of double bank fishing (which is fly only). It is relatively narrow and shallow for the river Annan, so wading is easier and can be achieved with thigh waders in the main; but care should be taken on gravel. Likewise smaller (single handed) rods can easily cover this beat. It is good fly water although spinning and worming are allowed at any height of water (on the single bank stretch). At Jardine Hall there are a very few season ticket holders who only fish occasionally, so it is fished very lightly indeed. The annual catch is around 10 salmon, 40 sea trout and 20 browns and this is way below its potential.
