The Stinchar is essentially a spate river, but can produce excellent sport in the right conditions. The main run of salmon and sea trout occurs between July to October.
The Knockdolian water consists of 3 miles double bank fishing, which is divided into seven beats, with at least two named pools in each.
Each beat can fish 2 rods and a rotation system is in operation.
The fishing is by fly only and anglers are asked to follow the River Stinchar anglers Code of Practice.
The fishery is only four miles from the sea, which means that in good water they will often hold fresh fish. The ten year average catch is 245 salmon and grilse.
Accommodation is also available on the Estate.
