Tweed – Nest

The Nest catches almost all of its fish in October and November but sea trout are often to be seen here in July and salmon pass through in small numbers throughout the season and certainly as early as September.

The beat consists of nearly two and a half kilometres of the left bank with five named pools: Rampy, Boat Pool, House Pool, Policeman and The Gullets. There is a newly extended hut and there are now four main access routes to the river which involve parking on the main road and walking no more than 200 yards. We can fish five rods comfortably.

Otters and kingfishers can be seen amongst all the other wildlife to be expected in this wonderfully scenic part of the Scottish Borders. Local accommodation can be found at all levels with Clovenfords Country Hotel being the most popular as it is only five minutes drive from the beat.

Syndicate rods - £100 + VAT for 1 rod on the same day each week until 31st August 2014. Most suitable for local rods who can decide whether or not to fish by looking out of the window at the weather and it is priced to allow this.

This is a very bonnie stretch of Tweed with lots of wild-life, plant-life and the chance of catching a fish as a bonus.
