This is a very easy beat to fish with good access and level walks on the river bank. The water is fished from the right bank and runs to 1.5 miles with 15 named pools. A maximum of 4 Rods per day/night are allowed.
The Redscar beat lies in the Milfield plain south of Redscar Bridge near Milfield Village. Pools are long and deep (4 to 8 feet) but are not fast running, comprising of glides.
Both river bank and river bed are of a sandy nature making it comparatively snag free.
A car park is provided via a woodland track, this is central to the beat. There is another car park at Redscar Bridge, the downstream end of the beat.
Two bench seats are provided in the central woodland area, through which a good footpath and fishing bays are maintained to give access to the grazed fields above and below. While fishing any pool on Redscar you have panoramic views of the Cheviot Hills.
Very little wading is required to fish the fly, unless it is windy.
